Bob Bjorseth is a Vice President of Wealth Management at Bukaty Companies Financial Services with more than 21 years experience providing critical and strategic financial advice to executives and corporate clients. Prior to joining Bukaty Companies, Bob worked with A.G. Edwards and Smith Barney as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Managing Director. Bob lives in Leawood with his wife Kelly and three boys Jake, Ben and Bobby.
Brandon Cutler is a mentor for Financial Elements, Resources’ employee wellness solution powered by people and amplified by technology. Brandon helps participants by breaking down financial concepts to increase financial literacy that will impact everyday financial decisions to reach the desired outcome.
Prior to joining Resources and Financial Elements, Brandon spent three years with Fidelity Investments working on asset acquisition, guidance and planning, and customer service.
Brandon received his bachelor’s in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Management from the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma. He holds his Series 66, 63, and 7 with Resources Investment Advisors. Brandon is currently enrolled in Life & Health, CFP. Brandon and his wife Brittany both played basketball in college and enjoy watching basketball whenever they can.
Jack Hull is a Financial Consultant at Bukaty Companies Financial Services. In his role, Jack helps individuals achieve their financial goals through providing investment advice & comprehensive financial planning. Jack was recently published in The Journal of Individual Financial Management. Prior to joining Bukaty, Jack worked as a Financial Advisor Consultant with American Century Investments. Jack resides in Prairie Village, Kansas with his wife Katie and their daughter Caroline. Additionally, Jack is a “big” in the Big Brothers & Big Sisters program.
Jason Hoffman serves as Vice President of Bukaty Companies Financial Services, bringing more than 14 years of experience in the consulting field of retirement plan design, investment monitoring and administration to the firm. His duties include business development, marketing and overseeing day-to-day servicing operations of the Retirement Plan Services division.
As a consultant, he manages vendor searches, implementation timelines and conversion teams, plan design assistance, industry and market analysis and develops written communication plans. Hoffman also educates on fiduciary services in an effort to help clients stay compliant with various fiduciary standards and best practices including development of investment policy statements, on-going investment analysis and demographics analysis. He has a vast knowledge of retirement plans from the start-up phase to ongoing day-to-day operations. His strengths include employee communication, plan design education and assisting participants with the education process.
Keith Guertin is a financial advisor bringing almost 15 years of industry experience to Bukaty Companies Financial Services. In his role, Guertin provides financial planning as an investment advisor representative developing financial plans for retirees, professionals and affluent individuals utilizing skills in tax management, strategic portfolio wealth management, estate planning and risk management.
Prior to joining Bukaty Companies Financial Services, Guertin gained substantial experience successfully developing customized financial strategies to manage the needs of clients while working for recognized financial services companies. He spends his down time with his wife of almost ten years and young son. He also enjoys working on his classic car.
Krystle Kaufman is a Retirement Plan Consultant at Bukaty Companies Financial Services. She is a second generation financial planner who brings more than eight years of industry expertise to the firm. In her role, Krystle focuses solely on helping institutional clients with 401(k)s, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, ERISA and Non-ERISA 403(b) plans. Her responsibilities include providing in-depth retirement plan consulting to plan fiduciaries by offering a comprehensive array of services, all designed to help clients address fiduciary requirements entailed by offering a qualified retirement plan.
As an investment fiduciary to her corporate plans, Krystle helps plan sponsors identify unseen or unknown risks. After having held thousands of group meetings and one‐on‐one sessions, she is skilled in helping plans in their efforts to increase both deferral and participation rates for employees. Krystle has a passion for helping individual employees become more educated about savings, investments and subsequently guiding them to pursue their retirement goals. Krystle is also a regular speaker at conferences and forums where she shares her knowledge about the roles and responsibilities of retirement plan fiduciaries.
Prior to joining Bukaty Companies, Krystle worked as a wealth advisor for United Capital Financial Advisors, where she serviced the firm’s existing book of clients with excellent customer services, implemented new ideas, originated new business and provided comprehensive financial planning for individual high-net-worth individuals.
Leneen serves as a Retirement Plan Consultant for Bukaty Companies Financial Services. Leneen primarily works with qualified retirement plans and their participants. However, she also assists companies with non-qualified deferred compensation plans.
Leneen previously served as Chief Operating Officer for Elrick & Associates and as a registered representative of Carey, Thomas, Hoover & Breault.
Mark Beaton is Vice President, Retirement Plan Consultant with Bukaty Companies Financial Services. A native of England, Mark immigrated to the United States in 1996. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Aeronautics, with a minor in Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. During his career as a commercial pilot, he was introduced to the Ziegler Companies where he began his financial services career as a Municipal Bond Broker.
In 2011, Mark co-founded Strategic Insurance Consultants (SIC) which specializes in benefit consulting for Professional Employer Organization (PEO) and Administrative Services Outsourcing (ASO). Mark became the Director of the Retirement Plan Consulting Division. The Benefits and Retirement Division of SIC merged with GCG Financial in 2013, where Mark designed, implemented and maintained one of the largest PEO/ASO in the Front Range. Mark joined Bukaty in 2015 when Bukaty became the investment advisor to the PEO/ASO. He earned the designation of CPFA (Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor) in the spring of 2016. In 2017, 2018 and 2019 Mark has been recognized for the prestigious “Young Guns Top 40 Advisors Under 40” award through the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).
When Mark is not working as a Retirement Plan Consultant he likes riding dirt bikes. He is the Board Vice President of a 501(c)(3) which stewards land management for the Rampart Range area of the Pike National Forest. As a passion, Mark flies regularly with the Aspen Flying Club and likewise, he enjoys camping, snowboarding and spending time with family. Mark and his wife, Lisa, are the proud parents of two boys.
Pat McCandless offers a high level of personalized service to her clients. She is a seasoned consultant with over 12 years of experience in the corporate retirement plan industry. Distinguished by offering a roadmap to business owners that is unbiased and conflict-free, she is known for her supportive and consultative approach to working with business owners and employees.
Her breadth of knowledge comes from her roles in a privately held, financial services firm in the Midwest, a top-tiered third-party administration (TPA) firm, and her affiliation with Bukaty where she focuses on helping every participant save sufficiently for a dignified retirement.
Pat holds her Series 65 securities registration and insurance licenses. She holds two prestigious designations: Accredited Investment Fiduciary from the Center for Fiduciary Studies as well as the Certified 401(k) Professional from The Retirement Advisor University in conjunction with UCLA Anderson Business School of Management.
Richard is in his 17th year as a wealth advisor. He is committed to delivering investment advice and financial planning at the high level of competency and professionalism outlined by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. He values the client relationships that have formed over the years and is rewarded by their successful outcomes.
Ruth manages the Austin, Texas Division for Bukaty Companies Financial Services.
Ruth has worked in the financial services industry for over a decade with a focus on serving the needs of retirement plan sponsors and their participants. Throughout her career, Ruth’s primary objective has always been to deliver quality retirement plan services that help companies manage fiduciary obligations.
Scott brings over 23 years of experience working with both individual and institutional investors. Prior to joining Bukaty Companies Financial Services, he served as Vice President for Manning & Napier Advisors, where he consulted to plan sponsors and institutional clients around life cycle and target date investment strategies. Scott also brings a wealth of experience gained by working with structured products as First Vice President of Advisors Asset Management and with institutional asset management firms as Vice President of the Managed Account Consulting groups.
Scott serves as a Vice President in our Wealth Management Division and as a member of our Investment Policy Committee. He also spends time consulting directly to our plan participants helping them create a plan to fund their retirement goals, as well as working with families in the areas of investment, retirement and estate planning.
Scott earned the Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM designation from the College for Financial Planning. The CRPS mark indicates expertise in designing, implementing and servicing qualified and non qualified plans. He received his B.A. in History from California State University, Bakersfield.

Travis Power currently serves as a Senior Retirement Plan Consultant at Bukaty Companies Financial Services, and has been in the industry since 2009.
As an investment advisor representative, Travis educates plan sponsors regarding various fiduciary standards and best practices including development of investment policy statements and on-going investment monitoring and demographics analysis. He has a vast knowledge of retirement plans from the startup phase to ongoing day-to-day operations and his strengths include investment monitoring, employee communication, plan design support, and assisting participants understand the retirement saving process.
Tristan Talley is Vice President, Wealth Management at Bukaty Companies Financial Services, bringing more than 17 years of experience to the firm. In this role, Tristan’s primary responsibilities involve helping clients connect their money to the lives they want. As a wealth management advisor, Tristan specializes in retirement income planning, estate planning and tax planning, working with all aspects of a client’s financial life to assist them in accomplishing their goals and dreams. He also provides financial education to retirement plan participants.
Vince Morris is a founder of Bukaty Companies Financial Services, bringing more than 22 years of industry experience and a lifetime passion for investments and helping people with financial literacy to the firm. In his role, Vince is tasked with the overall growth strategy and vision of the company. He leads corporate strategy, manages the day-to-day operations and still serves as the lead advisor to some key client relationships. Vince oversees multiple divisions under the financial services umbrella including the firm’s Resources Investment Advisors, Inc., its third party administration firm, Retirement Plan Administration, Inc. and its affiliate services program. Vince works to ensure that Bukaty Companies Financial Services remains competitively positioned to serve its clients’ needs in an ever changing regulatory environment and evolving market place.
As a nationally recognized leader in the field of retirement plans for companies and their executives, Vince has been a valuable resource for other successful entrepreneurs. He has extensive experience in asset management and fiduciary duties pertaining to offering retirement plans. Additionally, he serves on the NAPA Government Affairs Committee and supports the industry PAC.
Amy is a client relationship manager at Bukaty Companies Financial Services and is responsible for providing retirement plan consulting to qualified retirement plan clients. Amy has 20 years of Financial Services experience. Amy and her husband live in Denver with their dog and cat. Amy is actively involved with Ho-Bo Care Boxer Rescue and competes in triathlons all over the world.
Billy is a crucial part of the Wealth Management team at Bukaty Financial Services. He works closely with Tristan Talley and manages client needs and objectives through a comprehensive suite of financial planning tools including investment management, estate planning, and income planning for retirement.

Brandon received his bachelor’s in Personal Financial Planning and a minor in Business Administration from Kansas State University. In his free time, he enjoys reading, swing/line dancing, and spending time with friends. Brandon is currently studying for the Series 65.
Brandon Kempin received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2018 and currently serves as the Portfolio Manager for the Portfolio Management team at Bukaty Companies Financial Services. Brandon has been part of the Portfolio Management team for the past 7 years. In his role, Brandon is responsible for account re-balancing and monitoring, trading execution, model analysis and creation, investment research, attribution analysis, and technology utilization on the wealth management side. On the retirement side, his duties include, line up construction, investment monitoring, maintaining the preferred list of investments, fund reviews, investment manager meetings, and value-added resource creation.
Cara Duke is a very active, personable, and detail-oriented individual who has a fire burning passion for providing a top-notch experience for all those who are working with her. Cara joined our team in November of 2015. In the years prior, she attended the Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri as a student-athlete in soccer. After graduating from undergrad, Cara continued her education and received her Masters in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing. Currently, Cara is responsible for online marketing, multimedia communications, project management, social media strategy, and event planning and management. She is the definition of creative multi-tasking force.
Prior to joining Bukaty Financial Services, Carey was a Vice President at Tower Wealth Managers. He also previously worked for Lazard Asset Management and Blackrock-iShares. Carey is a member of the Portfolio Management team and works with Wealth Management clients and Resources Investment Advisors affiliate firms.
Cari relocated to Colorado in 2005, from Illinois. Her employment background has been diverse; however she has found her niche in the financial services industry and has made this her career for the past 15 years. When she is not helping her clients, she is active with her children in Scouts and their various sports activities. In her spare time, she enjoys time outside with her husband, family and two dogs in all that the Colorado outdoors has to offer.
Chelsey Ryerson serves as Controller for Bukaty Companies Financial Services. In this role, Chelsey is responsible for the overall accounting and financial reporting functions for the Company. This includes working closely with other members of leadership to budget and forecast for the Company’s growth.
Chelsey has been a licensed CPA since 2011 and spent several years as an audit manager at a large public accounting firm, prior to joining Bukaty Companies Financial Services in 2017.
As Senior Client Relationship Manager for Bukaty Companies Financial Services, Christy brings more than 23 years of experience in the Wealth Management and 401(k) Plan Administration Industry. She joined Bukaty in 2010 with the merger of Bukaty Companies and O’Renick Companies/Resources Investment Advisors, and had been with O’Renick Companies since 2006. She truly enjoys working closely with both new, and many long-time, wealth management clients. She provides superior customer service and support to wealth management clients, advisors, and assists with compliance and oversight of the Wealth Management team.
Prior to Christy’s positions with Bukaty/O’Renick in Kansas City, she lived in the St. Louis area and worked for 10 years as an Assistant Director of a large 401(k) plan. Christy holds her Series 65 securities registration as an Investment Advisor Representative.
David recently joined Bukaty Companies Financial Services as a client relationship manager. He has worked in financial services for more than a decade and brings with him experience in establishing new plans, monitoring investments, managing vendor searches and supporting clients in many other aspects of sponsoring a retirement plan. David strives to provide best-in-class service to his assigned retirement plan consulting clients and understands that while there may be similarities, each client deserves a custom approach tailored to their unique needs.
Emily Richardson serves as a Staff Accountant for Bukaty Companies Financial Services. In this role, Emily is responsible for processing commissions, maintaining and developing RAPP, invoicing, billing, and other accounting duties. This includes working closely with other members of the accounting team to maintain the general ledger.
Emily is a volunteer and involved with the KVC Warehouse which provides clothing, toiletries, and supplies for kids in foster care and foster care families in Kansas.
Garrett Brower joined Bukaty Financial Services in October 2015 as a Business Development Coordinator. His focus is assisting and overseeing the retirement plan sales process, sales strategy development, and ensuring all new clients are onboarding in a thorough, efficient manner. His day-to-day duties include managing client implementation and on-boarding, vendor searches, conducting employee education meetings, fee, and investment analysis, database management, and organizing client and prospecting events. He also works closely with the portfolio management team and the investment research process.
Prior to joining Bukaty Financial Services, he served as a Regional 401(k) Consultant with Security Benefit. Mr. Brower has successfully passed the FINRA Series 6 and 63 examinations. He earned his Bachelors of Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Washburn University.
Jack Moderson joined Bukaty Financial Services in June 2016 as a Client Relationship Manager. He comes to Bukaty with several years of financial services experience and market knowledge. In addition to serving as the day-to-day contact for our plan sponsors and as an intermediary between the plan sponsor and recordkeeper, he manages vendor searches, investment monitoring, and helps clients stay compliance with various fiduciary best practices. He also works with participants with plan and account related questions.
Prior to joining Bukaty Financial Services, he assisted high net worth and brokerage clients at American Century Investments with respect to their retirement investment portfolios. Mr. Moderson has successfully passed the FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 examinations. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Finance from Auburn University.
James Battmer currently serves as Chief Investment Officer for Bukaty Companies Financial Services. In his role, James is responsible for providing executive oversight of the firm’s investment strategy and execution, in addition to overseeing all institutional and high-net-worth client accounts. James has 17 years of experience in the industry, his expertise lies in macroeconomic policy, fixed income management and equity selection.
Prior to joining Bukaty Companies Financial Services, James served as Vice President at UMB Bank.
Jennifer joined Bukaty Companies Financial Services in 2013 and has more than 15 years experience as a service professional in the financial services industry. Prior to working with Bukaty companies, she worked in the non-profit sector. Outside of work, Jennifer loves spending time with her family, either with Netflix or out and about.
Jessica Schubel serves as Resources’ Compliance Director and is responsible for the firm’s compliance program. Jessica has more than 15 years of compliance experience in the investment industry, with a focus on registered investment advisors and meeting regulatory obligations under the Investment Company Act of 1940. Prior to Resources, she served as the Compliance Manager-VP and Anti-Money Laundering Officer of Scout Investments, Inc., and Fund Secretary for Scout Funds.
Katie Kirchner brings 10 years of industry experience to Bukaty Companies Financial Services where she serves as Vice President of Client Services. Katie is responsible for the daily oversight and leadership of the Retirement Plan and Wealth Management service teams, in addition to providing support to the team in meeting established service level requirements through workflow coordination, scheduling, training and process improvement. In addition, she is responsible for providing a positive experience for retirement plan consulting clients through the development and maintenance of strong relationships where she serves as the liaison between the plan sponsor, recordkeeper and retirement plan consultant to help resolve any plan administration or participant matters. Prior to joining Bukaty Companies Financial Services in 2010, Katie spent several years in the banking industry. Katie received her bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Iowa; she currently holds a Series 65 designation. Outside of work, Katie enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, including 6-year old twins Maddie and Nolan.
Marissa provides leadership to administrative team members and assists Client Relationship Managers with administrative duties that serve our clients and deliver excellence. She has been in the industry for over 7 years and has worked as a client relationship manager for over 4 years.
Marissa enjoys spending time with my husband and cheering on her daughter at her dance competitions!
As a member of the portfolio management team, Matt provides necessary investment research and analysis. He also engages in the day to day management of investment portfolios and processes, trading, analysis, and communication. Matt actively monitors and reviews the firm’s approved core equity, fixed income, and alternative investment options for both the wealth management and the retirement plan side of the business.
Phil Troyer serves as Resources’ Chief Compliance Officer and is responsible for the firm’s overall compliance with federal and state investment laws. Phil has been a licensed attorney for over 20 years. His prior experience includes serving as General Counsel for NRP Financial and NRP Advisors, a broker-dealer and investment adviser owned by National Retirement Partners, as well as managing his own national ERISA practice, which have made him a recognized thought leader in the retirement plan industry.
In addition, Phil is able to draw upon his past experience in insurance, litigation, contract interpretation, and corporate law to assist the firm and its practice leaders with managing the risks associated with their businesses.
Ross Copeland joined Bukaty Financial Services in May 2017 as a Client Service Associate. He comes to Bukaty with several years of financial services experience. He provides superior support and customer service to Bukaty wealth management advisors and their clients. Ross graduated from Washburn University with B.B.A.’s in Finance and Marketing and has also successfully passed the FINRA Series 65 examination.
Shannon Ryan provides annual plan administration services and technical compliance support to employers who sponsor qualified retirement plans. This includes an in-depth understanding of the complexities of all facets of administering qualified retirement plans. Prepare all financial, regulatory and operational reporting for qualified retirement plans including, but not limited to: trust accounting, compliance testing, 5500 preparation and preparation of plan documents.
Shannon has worked in the retirement industry for 14 years, prior to joining Bukaty spent 11 years working at Empower Retirement. Shannon enjoys the outdoors, she likes hiking, camping and boating. Shannon enjoys spending time with her family and running her kids around to all their activities.
Tracy Ross serves as a Staff Accountant for Resources Investment Advisors. In this role, Tracy is responsible for accounting, processing commissions, maintaining and developing RAPP, invoicing, billing, and other accounting duties.
